If you could only take 3 products on a romantic weekend, what would
they be?
Jo Malone Vintage Gardenia candle. It's soooooo delicious. My husband usually doesn't like heavy florals, but this one is light, refreshing and
makes you want to fall in love...again.
Fresh Sugar lip balm. It feels like silky melted butter and tastes sweet
as, well, sugar. Nobody wants to be kissed by leather lips.
Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere fragrance. I visited Chanel’s jasmine fields
in the South of France last fall and have been transfixed by this new
version of No. 5 ever since.
What is the one product no self-respecting Latina should be without?

Any tips on how to create a romantic bath for two?
Lots and lots of bubbles. No lights except for candles. I love sitting on opposite ends of a gigantic round jet tub, pouring in loads of bubble bath, turning on the jets and watching the foam swell up like an "I Love Lucy" episode. A bottle of the other bubbly (champagne!!) always revs the romance factor.
Does the concept of a "5 minute makeup regime" really exist? If so,
which products make this possible?
Five minutes on just makeup?! Honey, you can do hair and makeup in
under five minutes with a few fast, simple tricks. The most important thing
to focus on when you're rushed is correcting obvious problems. You'll
never turn heads in gorgeous red lipstick if you have frizzy hair, bulls-eye pimples or undereye bags. Spread Nars Brightening Serum, a luminizing lotion, over your entire face, then dab foundation around your nostrils,
eyes, chin and blemishes to neutralize redness. No concealer necessary! Swipe Nars The Multiple across your cheekbones, eyelids and browbones.

I've known Rita since before she had her first celebrity client. She's the
best colorist in the business, and I'll never cheat on her. My husband
loves how her subtle strands of caramel light up my boring brown hair.

As a native New Yawka, I'm all about proximity. So I wanted to throw a ticker-tape parade when this chain opened a location in my neighborhood. Their Virtual Nails reinforce your own nails for two weeks and never, ever
chip. Not once.
3. Tui-Na. 222 Lafayette St.; 212-941-6038
It's the best cheap massage in New York at $40 an hour, and totally
no frills. A model told me about it backstage at a fashion show, and I'm hooked. It's an underground joint with eight massage tables lined up
side-by-side like pool chaises. There's no privacy, but it's clean and the therapists are so great at finding knots and tight muscles, they must
have GPS built into their fingertips!

When I'm in the mood for haute pampering - call it a Staycation - I head uptown to the Mandarin Oriental Spa. Tranquility is pumped into the air,
I'm convinced. It's the opposite of Tui-Na because each item on their spa menu (I've tried them all!) has just about every extra indulgence you can imagine. You hardly notice the frenetic pace of NYC streets when you leave. And its genderless Zen vibe is great for couple's retreats, too.

My dermatologist is a skin wizard, but he's also a scientific genius.
Dr. B (as I call him) has every trick in the sorcerer's book to perfect you

I was recently reading the Lucky Mag’s The Beauty Dept Blog and was startled with an article posted by Cristina Mueller their senior beauty editor. “Every morning as I curse myself for staying up two hours later than I wanted to, watching You Tube clips of John McCain on The View; thinking about, but not buying, Rachel Comey dresses; and exploring the Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey website, I stagger to the shower, then pull out the same five makeup items:

To: Wear False Eyelashes

Q: What was more breath taking
than the fashion in the movie “The
Devil Wears Prada?
A: Anne Hathaway's fabulous eyes,
brought to the forefront of her
face through the use of false eyelashes
(and, yes, a bit of mascara). False
eyelashes aren't just for Hollywood
starlets and fictionalized fashion
editors- this inexpensive beauty
accessory can be purchased from
your local Walgreens and applied in the comfort of your
own home.
Here's the scoop on the lashes....
Home: Get started by picking
up the Andrea
Modlash Starter Kit ($5.79
at Walgreens or drugstore.com).
Standing in front of a mirror, curl
your own lashes with an eyelash
curler (note: ALWAYS curl your lashes
BEFORE applying mascara- curling
after can rip out your eyelashes).
Then remove the false eyelashes
from the kit and measure to your
own lash line. If the lashes are
too long, trim them with a pair
of small eyebrow/grooming scissors.
Use the enclosed applicator to hold
on to the lashes while applying
a thin ribbon of adhesive, give
the adhesive 30 seconds to get tacky,
then apply the lashes to your upper
eyelid.
Let the lashes set for about 1 minute,
then cover any exposed adhesive
with eyeliner (in my opinion liquid
eyeliners work best). Lashes will
easily peel off when you're through
with them; just be sure to remove
them before bed (or you'll have
a morning mess on your hands).
Professional: This is a great
option if you're a little afraid
to go it alone and have a little
extra cash. Head to the nearest Saks
Fifth Avenue and visit the Shu
Uemura Tokyo Eyelash Bar,
where you can pick out a set of
lashes (available lashes ranging
from small extensions to plush faux
fur) and have them professionally
applied, with prices starting at
$15. Other make-up companies, like
MAC, sell false eyelashes, but Shu
Uemura is like the czars of lashes.
Shu Uemura artists will show you
how to properly apply your lashes.
One of the of tips you'll learn
(that can be used by those trying
this at home) is to squeeze a small
dot of adhesive onto your hand and
swipe the lashes through before
applying. Lashes will last a day
and are reusable, so be sure to
store them properly. If you can't
